How to Make Homemade Frozen Yogurt – Recipe

Can I make frozen yogurt at home?  How do I make froyo that tastes like Pinkberry or Red Mango?   Making homemade frozen yogurt has got to be hard, right?

No, no, no making homemade frozen yogurt is really simple.  Don’t let the hundreds of frozen yogurt retail stores fool you.  The only somewhat difficult part is buying the ice cream machine.

Some people say that you need to strain the yogurt.  Please!  That’s just a waste of time.  Simply buy the Greek Style Yogurt like:  Dannon Greek, Oikos, Yoplait Greek, Fage, and others.  My favorite is Mountain High Yoghurt. I usually choose the fat free, plain kind.   It tastes the worst and is the healthiest but after you add the ingredients it tastes the best somehow.

Here is the best homemade healthy frozen yogurt recipe ever:

1) 3 cups (720g)  yogurt
2) 3/4 cup sugar
3) 1/4 cup whip cream (optional)
4) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
5) mix all the ingredients together until the sugar is dissolved
6) freeze according to your ice cream maker’s instructions

For even a lower calorie treat, I like to replace the sugar with Splenda.  It won’t take away from the taste – only the calories!
